Hey Daan, Thank you for the honor of citing my note here.
I applaud you to keep your flat so cool. With screens and airco I can barely keep it at 25,5 degrees Celsius. Love how you described it and despite being a fellow-sufferer you made me smile 😀
Tomorrow will be murder, also on asthmatic people with high humidity and low air quality, so please take care.
Yep, 26*C at 12 o’clock unless I turn on the airco real high (in the hallway, and use a fan to blast it into the living room. Then I got it down to 24,5.
Glad to see you got through it, the next 2 weeks will get warmer again, yet not predicted to be this high. I turned on the AC (and closed all doors and windows) on Thursday. Tonight for the first time I reversed that. Annnnndddd then of course the Dutch humidity hit 😅
I feel exactly the same dread when those “numbers of doom” start to rise. Currently experiencing a heatwave here in the UK too and MS heat intolerance is giving me a good kicking.
Thanks for the houmous recipe, I love that you have us using shop bought as a base if things are a bit too much! 😊
Yes, that heatwave has got pretty much all of Europe in its nasty grip. We got highs of 39 centigrade over here in the Netherlands. But right now it’s a little cooler, so I opened all the doors and windows (except for the ones in the cat room, where I need to lock the cats in—poor things) and jut managed to get temps in my bedroom down from 30 to 28. Still too bloody hot. Living room is 23.5 right now. Not too bad.
And of course, shop bought houmous is fine. I mean, I very much prefer homemade, but as they say: beggars can’t be choosers. If I don’t have the spoons to make it from scratch, I’ll gladly fall back on shop bought. 😊

Summer has just started. Yay…

Yes, Dutch humidity. Ugh!
Nuff said.
No air con here. It went to the dog. Literally. (Check out my post later today.)
Have you survived so far?
Me barely. The other day with 39 centigrade was murder. Even my living room heated up to a never-before 26°C. But at least it's a bit better now.
And your note was just perfect. So thank you for allowing me to use it.
Sun. Dried. Tomato. Hummus. You just alerted me to an upcoming hummus post. You didn’t tell me it included the nectar of the gods!!
Well, I wanted to surprise you. 😉

Ugh sounds like you have it even worse over there. I’m in the north of England and was a little cooler at 31C. Can’t even cope with that…
I’m going to live with you. 😉
That said, 31C is still bloody awful.
